Hello My name is ...
Hello, my name is Diana Cuellar and I am born and raised in Bogota, Colombia. The pronunciation of my name is actually different in Colombia than it is here as it is pronounced the same as the name Deanna. I graduated with a Humanities and Languages (Spanish, English and French) degree from Universidad Libre in Colombia. During my college years I participated in many different activities such as being a part of conferences with the French Embassy, Cultural French Projects including the La Francofonía Project as well as being a member of the Colombian French Teachers Association (ACOLPROF). In Colombia I was a teacher for the past 5 years. It has always been a passion of mine to be work with children and to hopefully make a difference in some small way in their lives. Obviously being a native of Colombia I speak Spanish fluently but I also have studied English for 6 years in Colombia as well as a semester in New York City a couple years ago. It is of the utmost importance to understand the needs of my students and to devise teaching methods that will help raise their interest in the subject being taught which helps to facilitate learning. When I have some free time I love going to the movies, traveling, dining out, and of course being from Colombia I love to go dancing. I am so excited and grateful to have been accepted in this program to be your Dual Immersion Spanish Teacher for this year. We are going to do many fun things together and of course learn a lot.
