Welcome to the WD Williams Library Media Center!

Legare Hartbarger
WD Williams Elementary School

Greetings!  My name is Legare (pronounced Lagree) Hartbarger. I have been fortunate enough to work at WD Williams since 2008.  Our school is such a wonderful place to spend my days and work.  The students are inquisitive and eager to learn.  Before I came to WD Williams, I was the Media Coordinator at Glenwood Elementary School in McDowell County and Palmer-Stone Elementary School in Oxford, GA.  I have 2 daughters at Western Carolina University. I also have a wonderful husband who is self-employed here in Asheville.
I grew up outside of Atlanta and worked at Fairview Elementary School teaching 4th, 3rd and 1st grades for 9 years before staying home with my daughters for 4 years.   I graduated from Agnes Scott College with a degree in Art and an elementary education certification.  Later, I graduated with a Masters in Library, Media and Technology from Georgia State University.
In 2014, I received my National Board Certificate in Library Media. I love being at school and adore getting to know the students year after year!
