What is Leveled Literacy Intervention?

Level Literacy Intervention called (LLI), is a supplementary system designed to help struggling readers reach their grade level reading expectations. The program focuses on students in Kindergarten through Fifth grades. This reading program uses engaging fiction and non-fiction texts matched to the student's reading ability. They read everyday at their instructional level with teacher support as well as their independent level with less support. The lessons include reading, writing, phonics and word study, and the extensive use of oral language.

Buncombe County Schools is in the process of reviewing its website to ensure compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
