What is Leveled Literacy Intervention?
Literacy Intervention called (LLI), is a supplementary system designed
to help struggling readers reach their grade level reading expectations.
The program focuses on students in Kindergarten through Fifth grades. This
reading program uses engaging fiction and non-fiction texts matched to
the student's reading ability. They read everyday at their instructional
level with teacher support as well as their independent level with less
support. The lessons include reading, writing, phonics and word study,
and the extensive use of oral language.
