Welcome to my Classroom

I'm very excited about being your child's teacher this year! A little bit about myself. I'm a product of Buncombe County Schools. I graduated from Owen High School in 2003. Then, I went to UNC-Asheville where I received my Bachelors in Psychology and my K-6 teaching license. I've been at Williams since 2010.  I taught 2nd grade for three years, then moved to 3rd grade for four years. This is my fourth year teaching 5th grade. I also worked two years in Title I as an assistant.

I've had the privilege of being 2018-2019 Teacher of the Year. This has been a huge honor to represent such a wonderful school that I've not only worked at, but attended as an elementary student.

I enjoy learning just as much as my students do. My teaching philosophy is learning should be purposeful and meaningful, but also fun.

My parents are two individuals who are very important to me. I also have a brother who is attending Appalachian State University . I love the color purple and my favorite animal is an elephant. I also enjoy cooking and baking, reading a good book, being outdoors, gardening, antique shopping, and visiting new places.

My husband Tony and I, enjoy going to concerts, cooking new recipes, being outdoors, and doing home improvements at our new house. We have a beautiful baby boy Wilson; he is a true blessing in our life!

I'm looking forward to a year full of learning, adventure and fun! If you have any questions, please feel free to email me or contact the school.
