PBIS Acknowledgment System


*  Each Monday – 1 student from each class bucket is drawn to win their choice of the weekly prize.  Their teacher allows their student winner to pick which prize they would like and arrange it for them.  Prizes they can pick from are:

  • Eat lunch with a grade-level friend
  • Extra computer time in the library for 20 minutes
  • Time to work with Mrs. Hartbarger in library on Makerspace project
  • Homework pass for one assignment
  • 15 minutes of extra recess/ free time for entire class
  • Be a helper in another classroom
  • Any other prize as determined by teacher that works well for his/ her class (Example – extra time on the Ipad)
  • *  Each month a character trait is taught by the classroom teacher and integrated into their writing lessons.  Students will be recognized by classmates and teachers for displaying this trait throughout the month on cut-outs that will be displayed in classroom and hallway.  Teachers will send home these writings with the recognized students each month.  Character traits are as follows:
  1. September – Respect

    October - Safety

    November – Citizenship

    December – Kindness

    January – Responsibility

    February – Honesty

    March – Perseverance

    April – Fairness

    May - Optimism


  3. * Monthly celebration are held for all students who have been displaying positive behaviors (celebrations vary, including “Breakfast and a Movie” and Wii “Dance Parties”). 


  5. * Positive Referrals are made by all staff members for students that are observed showing positive behaviors.  Students will be recognized on the announcements.
