I am a native North Carolinian. I attended NC State University (Go Wolfpack!) and graduated with a degree in psychology with a general education K-6 teaching license in 1999. I began my teaching career at an AIG Magnet school but really felt called to teach students with learning difficulties. I moved to Asheville and continued my education while teaching at Black Mountain Primary School. I went on to earn my master's degree in Special Education and a teaching license in Learning Disabilities and Behavioral/Emotional Disabilities. I am also National Board certified in Exceptional Children K-12. I currently serve as the Exceptional Children's department head at WD Williams.

I love my family, my extended family and my church family. My husband (also an educator) and I, have several children in the Owen District schools. I spend a lot of time watching various sports games after school.  In my free time (ha! what is that????) I enjoy walking my dogs, riding my bike and hiking in the mountains of WNC.

I am here to help! If you have questions or concerns regarding your child's Individual Education Plan, please contact me at jessica.lehman@bcsemail.org

I have planning every day from 11:20-12:05. If you need to reach me by phone, please call 686-3856 during this block. I am working with students or in meetings at all other times. Thank you!
