Hi! Thank you for visiting my teacher website!! My name is Elizabeth Middleton.  Originally I am from New Jersey, but have lived in Asheville for over 15 years. I enjoy being outside whether it is relaxing at the pool or hiking on a trail. My other hobbies include reading, cooking and traveling when I can.

I earned my BA in Psychology and my North Carolina K-6 teaching certification from UNC-Asheville in 2002. I earned my National Board Teaching Certification in 2007. In November 2012 I was recognized by Buncombe County for ten years of service. My first ten years of teaching were in kindergarten (6 years), second grade (2 years), fourth and fifth grade (1 year each). In May 2013 I earned my Master's Degree in Special Education with a focus on Gifted education from Western Carolina University. Currently I am a member of both the North Carolina Association for the Gifted & Talented (NCGAT) and the National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC). You can learn more about these organizations by clicking on the links in my "Educational Links" page.

The 2016-17 school year will be my fifth year in an AIG Specialist position. I love this position because it allows me to work with many different groups of students and teachers at different grade levels and schools. This year I am excited to continue building on my relationships with students, families and staff at W.D. Williams Elementary and Black Mountain Primary!
