Save the date for a day filled with infinite possibilities and adventures. BCS STEAM Day, a fun-filled event produced by Buncombe County Schools, returns Saturday, March 14 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at Nesbitt Discovery Academy.
“Our theme this year is ‘Infinite Curiosity, Infinite Digits,’ which represents the many activities happening on 3-14, Pi Day, which celebrates the mathematical constant of 3.14,” said BCS Science Specialist Kate Whittier. “We want to inspire students to celebrate the endless wonder of pi through hands-on activities that spark imagination, innovation, and problem solving.”
STEAM stands for science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. STEAM Day is filled with fun fusing all of those fields together. Activities include the Asheville Museum of Science Geo Dome, Animal Ambassadors from the WNC Nature Center, and demonstrations from BCS Lego Robotics teams. Families can also enjoy treats from 6 Pigs BBQ, Bigfoot Longs, Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee Truck, and Kona Ice. The event is also supported by the Buncombe County Schools Foundation.
STEAM Day admission is free. Nesbitt Discovery Academy is located at 175 Bingham Road in Asheville.
